Position Summary:

 

The Columbia Public School District is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach for Battle High SchoolThrough the “love of sport” we hope to deepen each student’s capacity for character development. As a member of our teams’ students will learn to be accountable; to demonstrate commitment, teamwork, and self-sacrifice; to deal with success and failure; and to strive for excellence each time they compete. To support this, we will do our best to hire coaches and sponsors who will be transformative leaders and role models for Passion, Composure, Self-Discipline, Perseverance, Respect and Integrity. Our athletic/activity programs are here to provide students with a positive competitive experience as an extension to their academic education. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Softball Coach is responsible for:

Reports To:        Head Coach and Athletic Director

 

Supervises:        None

 

Qualifications:

 

Certificate: Missouri teaching certificate or Missouri substitute teaching certificate is required; Sport First Aid Course is required

 

Experience: Prior teaching/coaching experience preferred.

 

Other: If hired as a coach via a substitute certificate, the individual must satisfactorily complete (make a grade of 80% to pass) a MSHSAA approved coaches education program (NFICEP) before he/she can be hired for a coaching position in any subsequent year. In addition, all coaches despite certification status must attend a NFICEP first-aid class and pass the exit test given at that time.
